STRATEGIC & BUSINESS PLANNING

  • Helped ALT Group develop a new business strategy and plan based on an open source software strategy.

  • Co-developed a Strategy Paper on the Pan-Canadian Online Learning Portal for the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada, which resulted in the unanimous decision to proceed with the development of a public portal for 2007.

  • Conducted an Industry Capacity Initiative applied research project to determine strategies and models for the New Brunswick elearning industry for Business New Brunswick.

  • Worked as part of a team of independent consultants to develop a strategy for health services in French for the Northwest Territories.

  • Volunteered to create the business model for a sustainable energy investment co-operative, Renew Coop.

  • Developed a strategic analysis and business model for a public sector e-learning initiative for the New Brunswick Department of Education.

ANALYSIS

  • Analysis of information & knowledge flows for technical customer support at Remsoft.

  • Provided SCORM adoption advice to a Canadian learning technology company.

  • Conducted a diagnostic assessment for an applied research and innovation centre for NBCC Miramichi

  • Conducted a market analysis, technical feasibility study and business planning framework for a new educational enterprise software product, Synergic3, for l’Université de Moncton

ONLINE COMMUNITIES

  • Analysed the work requirements and specified the structure of three healthcare communities of practice in the greater Montreal area.
  • Identification of suppliers, staff training and support of an online collaborative learning environment for the Canada School of Public Service’s Advanced Leadership Program.

  • Development of a web infrastructure for SkySite Property to build an online community of practice focused on environmentally sustainable real estate.

  • Conducted a workshop on Value Network Analysis for SME’s in the information technology sector in partnership with PropelSJ.

  • Business strategy advice to YourTeamOnline, an online community for sports teams, such as hockey and soccer.

  • Created a collaborative work environment and moderated a community of practice for learning in Atlantic Canada.

HUMAN PERFORMANCE & TRAINING

  • Worked with lotusmedia, a language training technology company, as an advisor on learning, technology and business issues.

  • Developed the initial design of a middle school educational module on Interactions with Ecosystems for the Atlantic Wildlife Institute.
  • Conducted a performance analysis for 600 nursing staff (Centre hospitalier Pierre-Le Gardeur) in relation to the implementation of new nursing care methodology.

  • Analysed the current training and distributed learning programs conducted by the Canadian Forces, Land Force Reserves.

EVALUATION

  • In partnership with InPro Solutions, evaluated a funding program to support manufacturing companies in northern New Brunswick.

  • Contracted by CMEC as Project Lead for the development of the Pan-Canadian Online Learning Portal, Request for Proposals and evaluation of bids.

  • Evaluation and selection of a learning management system for purchase to meet the needs of a K-12 academic client: SAMFO (Service d’apprentissage médiatisé franco-ontarien).

MY ETHICAL GUIDELINES:

  1. Base recommendations and actions on an objective needs assessment conducted in partnership with the client.
  2. Define and achieve useful results that can be aligned with both the client organisation’s mission, objectives, and positive contributions to society.
  3. Focus on results and consequences of the results. Measure performance based on results, not on procedures performed for the client.
  4. Set clear expectations about the process to be followed and about the expected outcomes.
  5. Serve the client organisation with integrity, competence, and objectivity.
  6. Respect and contribute to the legitimate and ethical objectives of the client organisation.
  7. Prevent problems from occurring rather than solve problems that could have been predicted and avoided.
