Nice picture.
Too true about the Bridge Street Cafe in winter.
Any ideas to brighten things up in the winter are more than welcome.

As for living in Sackville, well.... Before I moved her 14 years ago I had never lived in any one place more than 3 years. I was in the military as was my father. I have lived and worked in many places around the world and after we moved here had a lot of very good job opportunities in other places in North America. We decided to stay here and raise our family and wait until our son had finished high school, and then go after the big jobs elsewhere. Well, our son is in his 3rd year at Royal Military College and due to be married this summer and we have decided that this is still the best place we've ever lived and yes we do own the bridge street cafe and like the small town of Sackville it does have its ups and downs but this is my hometown, and I think I'm going to stay.

Today, the front of the cafe would be covered with about 6 feet of snow. Interesting that you've moved to the west coast from here, while I grew up in BC and have chosen Sackville as a place to live. Could be an age difference ;-)

Hey Harold, thanks for the linkback, and glad you like the picture! The Bridge Street Cafe is a bit less cheery in December, though...

I grew up in Sackville and visit the family pretty frequently, but I have to say that, for a young person, the east coast doesn't offer the kind of opportunities that I've found in Vancouver and Calgary. Right now, I can't imagine going back to New Brunswick for more than a visit.

I met my wife in Quebec City, where I lived for two years. It's a great place to live, but can be difficult to find work that's not in the government or tourism sectors.

Sorry Harold,

My home town, Quebec City, ranked second. So I'm staying here...

But having spent some times in the Maritimes, for work and pleasure, I must say that there are very beautiful places out there.
